No Corporate Worship March 22
A note from Pastor Rob regarding Sunday, March 22
It's day two of social distancing, and I already have cabin fever! But all kidding aside, in an effort to protect the health of our church family as well as accommodate the recommendations of our governing officials, the elders have decided to cancel our service this coming Sunday, March 22nd. However, several men are working on a way to "stream" the morning service so that you can watch on Sunday. As we figure out how to do this, we'll let your know through another email.
In the meantime, please continue to pray for our nation,
-
that God in His mercy would protect us from the Corona virus,
-
that the Lord would also protect our precious church family from the virus, especially those who are most susceptible to it,
-
and that He would see fit to let us reassemble for worship on the Lord's Day as quickly as possible.
Also, please keep your eyes pealed for Prayer Chain requests as they come out.
Other than praying for our nation and church body, continue to rest in God's absolute sovereignty over world events as well as His abiding faithfulness to His people ("For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints," Psalm 37:28).
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Rob
Dear New Covenant Family,

We're living in strange times aren't we? I find it difficult even considering the topic of this post, but in light of the precautions that our governor is suggesting, the elders believe that the wisest course of action and the most loving thing we can do for our church family is to suspend all services this coming Sunday at New Covenant (March 15th). Some of you perhaps will violently protest this decision, but consider that many in our church family fall into the group at risk for the Corona virus or have regular contact with people in that group.
All other meetings scheduled for this week will continue as planned, including the elder/deacon meeting scheduled for this Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. In light of our current pandemic, this meeting in particular has taken on a new level of importance.

While our services for this Sunday are cancelled, the Lord's Day is not (nor ever will be). I encourage husbands and fathers to either lead their families in worship at home this Lord's Day, or watch an online sermon from a trusted source such as gty.org (John MacArthur), desiringgod.org (John Piper), or ligonier.org (R.C. Sproul). You can also find several good options at sermonaudio.com.
Should future cancellations be required, we will keep you informed by email, text message, or Facebook.
Finally, our sermon this Sunday would have been about prayer. In Ephesians 6:18 Paul writes, "To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints." During our current circumstances, please remember to diligently pray for other believers, your church family at New Covenant in particular. Pray that the Lord in His sovereignty would protect our church family from illness. Pray that the Lord would allow us to reconvene as a Body as soon as possible. Pray that the Lord will keep yourself and your fellow believers walking closely and faithfully with Him in the meantime.

Thanks for your understanding in this difficult decision.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Rob
